YCC was set up in 2010 is run by 11 elected 15-20 year olds. We meet monthly in the council chambers and identify projects to benefit Chepstow. On Saturday 29th January, YCC hosted a battle of the bands competition for bands and solo acts aged 14-20 at Chepstow Rugby Club. This event attracted a diverse mix of acts, it was great for YCC to be able to celebrate the talent of young people. The competition provided a gig for local artists to promote their music and the winning band and soloist received a day in recording studio. It was clear that everyone who took part had pride in their music and the positive atmosphere was echoed amongst the 200 people who turned up in support!
