RD Glass strives to produce high quality glass items which are attractive and functional whilst also being affordable . Each fused glass item has been produced by cutting many sections of sheet glass and then layering them on top of each other and melting or 'fusing' them together in a kiln. Some pieces are ground before this stage and most pieces are ground afterwards, before they are polished and fired in the kiln again once or twice more. Any shaped pieces such as bowls are fired again or 'slumped' over or into a mould to create the shape. As each item is handmade no two will be quite the same, and apart from the stud earrings no jewellery designs are ever replicated so you can be sure that you are buying a unique item. All of the jewellery is produced using only dichroic glass and .925 sterling silver unless otherwise stated and each piece comes beautifully packaged in a quality RD Glass black ribbed card box. The original Cockermouth railway station was situated on the Cockermouth & Workington Railway and served the town of Cockermouth, Cumbria. The station opened on 28 April 1847, and closed on 2 January 1865. The station was replaced by the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway station when the line was extended on a different alignment.
