The Society was formed in the hope of promoting and nurturing the creative talents of Royal Holloway. OUR PRIMARY AIM IS: To promote Royal Holloway University through the medium of film by showcasing RHUL’s student talent on the film festival stage. OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: • To produce good quality films involving all of Royal Holloway’s creative departments and societies getting Royal Holloway’s name know in the creative industry. • To build creative experience and portfolios worthy of getting a job after University. We will create filmmakers, actors, and musicians. • To get students out networking at courses and events in London and the rest of the country, while at the same time networking with the creative talent at Royal Holloway. • Allow students to create their own experience and portfolios • To launch our own film festival and participate in as many film festivals as possible, either entering films or as a group volunteeringI have outlined what our aims and objectives are for the first few years of production. The Royal Holloway Film Festival Society is rather hard to explain because its not just about filmmaking and taking part in festivals, it’s about networking, learning new skills from each other, making our own experience and portfolios that will help you stand out in the creative industry and much much more! RHUL Sikh Society is a place where students of the university can express any concerns or views they have about the uni and discuss ideas from a Sikh perspective. We aim to take Sikh Society forward and do our best to help YOU understand and explore Sikhism and how it fits into our daily lives. Together we will discuss issues relevant to Sikhs today as well as any personal questions anyone may have and provide a chance for everyone to voice their ideas freely. Basic Sikh history will be covered including the history of the Guru's from what messages they conveyed and how we can learn from them and their actions and apply this to the world around us. We also co-ordiante with the other Lodnon university Sikh Societie's through the umbrealla network Nishaan, so look forward to some familiar faces and large scale events! We'll have many discussion sessions on aspects of Sikhism and also on other issues and looking at them from a Sikh perspective.
