The Air Training Corps is the premier uniformed cadet organisation in the United Kingdom with over 60,000 cadets and 20,000 highly trained adult members of staff. Gosforth Park Out of School Club Ltd is a place where children and young people can enjoy themselves in a safe and stimulating environment, a place where they can relax and socialise before and after school and through the school holidays. We are open before and after school during term time and all day long during all school holidays, except the Christmas holidays. Before and after school we take children from Gosforth Park First School, Broadway East First School, St Oswald's RC Primary School and Gosforth East Middle School During the school holidays we take children from anywhere WHERE ARE WE? We are based in the school hall and a classroom at Gosforth Park First School, Granville Rd, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. Children learn through play but our emphasis is not on education. We believe the children need time to unwind and relax out of school time so we aim to provide an environment that is as different to school as possible. There is a quiet area for reading, a wide range of videos, a large variety of board games and jigsaws, computer games, art and craft activities, a role play area, a snooker table and table football. The children choose what they want to do and are never forced to partake in certain activities. We also have our own extremely well equipped play area and trim trail and use of the school field where we use our outdoor play equipment which includes ball games, parachute, skipping ropes, scooters etc. During the longer holidays we organise outings to local museums, beach, parks and attractions. We also run various in club workshops for example drama, art, golf, football, skateboarding.
