For the keen walkers amongst you, this is a ‘paradise’, with many famous walks passing the doorstep including the ‘Pennine Way and ‘Millenium Way. The area is steeped with history and famous for its ‘Wuthering Heights’ connections in the nearby village of Haworth where the Bronte Sisters were brought up. Wycollar Country Park is just a mile or so down the road, so there certainly is something to suit all your tastes. However, once you reach Bronte Barn, you may well just want to stay and enjoy the luxuries and stunning scenery on offer.

Every springtime the village of Haworth in the heart of West Yorkshire's Bronte Country hosts a very special 1940s weekend (organised by the Haworth Village Association), with locals and visitors alike getting togged up in 1940s gear to enjoy a wide range of nostalgic events - which usually include a RAF vintage plane flypast, a morale boosting visit from "Sir Winston Churchill" and even the "Queen Mother" - as well as spivs peddling their wares and authentic swing jive and Lindy Hop dancing being performed both in the streets during the day and at specially arranged dances which are held at local dance halls and pubs in the evenings.
