Tweenies Pre-school
At Tweenies Pre-school we plan and provide activities which include both child initiated and adult supported learning. To support the children’s learning we ensure that all our activities are suited to meet their needs. We implement the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS). This guidance ensures that children from birth to five years are able to reach their full potential in seven areas of learning; these are split into prime areas and specific areas. Children in the early years foundation stage learn through play, by exploring, using critical thinking and by being active and creative which takes place both indoors and outdoors.
The premises consist of a large hall with a secure covered outside area where children can experience and explore outdoor activities. We also have a foyer where parents are able to leave their pushchairs during the sessions if they wish.
Please note that we accept children who are still in nappies/ pull-ups. We have baby changing facilities but do ask that parents provide a spare nappy in the child’s book bag.
During each session, children have access to milk or water and fresh fruit. We also welcome items from home for our show and tell in conjunction with our latest theme and letter of the week. Children may also bring in special items of interest to share with the group.
We regularly take part in fundraising events for charities such as the NSPCC, Barnardo’s, Childline, Tommy’s, British Heart Foundation and Action for Medical Research. Occasionally (with parental permission) children are taken on local outings to places such as Central library, Pets at Home in Crayford and Asda supermarket.
Tweenies Pre-school is open from Monday – Friday 9.15am-12.15pm for 38 weeks per year during term time.
In addition to term time opening hours, we hold a summer club during the school holidays for 1-2 weeks.
