Hi my name is Alison and I craft!, this is in the form of sewing, stitching, papercrafting and much more (apart from jewellery making!) I have called my page 'In the Blue Shed' because that is what I have -a Blue Shed to craft and dither around in! although at the moment I have migrated into the dining room! I make cards and papercraft items for craft fayres and commissions. I make clothes for myself and my daughter and turn my hand to making costumes for school productions, specific themes (Kentwell Hall re-creations) and fancy dress. I stitch small items for commissions - these can work out to be quite expensive though. Also I sew other items - simple bags (always handy!), bunting - the latest decorative item, and sock toys - monkeys being the big thing, but I have made other animals as well. Sock toys are made using new socks, and start at £6 including postage any extras will be notified. PLEASE NOTE: sock toys are NOT designed for young children, they are a decorative item, all are double-machine stitched and hand finished, and because of the nature of the material could 'pop' with rough handling! they are stuffed using BS toy filling. I also run workshops for children during the school holidays, where I show children (8-13 years) the skills that I have learnt, this can be in the form of papercrafting or sewing. I now have 4 hand crank Singer sewing machines which the children love to use.
