LJMU's LexisNexis Student Associate for 2012-2013.
So what am I here for?
Do you find LexisNexis confusing? Well no more! Let me show you how easy it can be to use and get access to over 500,000 cases, legislation that is updated quicker than legislation.gov.uk and loads of other fantastic features.
If you are struggling to get the best marks in your essays and exams then your legal research may not be up to scratch. Textbooks are not enough to get good marks. I can teach you how to use LexisLibrary to find cases, legislation and journals all relevant to your work.
The biggest criticism law firms have is that law students do not know how to research properly. As this is the main role of a trainee lawyer it is important that you master this skill now. Come see me for training on how to use Halsbury's Laws of England in both hardcopy and online. Updated regularly and a common feature in law firms, they are the starting point for any research.
Additionally, why not get ahead and study for a LexisLibrary Research Certificate? It's easy to do and will look great on your CV and is a brilliant way to stand out from the crowd.
LPC students - come see me to learn about Lexis Professional Support Lawyer. It collects all the information you will need to deal with a fee transaction, including the latest legal updates, the right cases and legislation, and any forms or precedent required.
Finally there is a great programme called Lexis Check. It is a free download for all students that will allow you to check any citations in your documents and see if they are still good law. Not only that but if the cases etc you have put in your document are not good law anymore, Lexis Check provides you a direct link to the up to date law in LexisLibrary (without you even having to search for it yourself!) What could be simplier???
So come see me. I will be putting up dates of when I will be having drop in sessions on this page, but feel free to contact me to book a one-to-one session whenever you want.
