Langport Community Choir

Langport Community Choir

Great Bow Wharf, Langport ,
Langport Community Choir was founded following a local 'Sing for Fun' course run by Somerset County Council. The original members of the choir raised the money to finance the project privately. The rest is history. We are a friendly group who sing for sheer enjoyment. Harmony songs from around the world are taught by ear so there is no need to read music and there are no auditions and nobody is expected to sing solo. Our repertoire is building and we are now singing regularly at local events. Please post here, or message us, if you would like us to sing at your event, or if you would like to be a member of the choir or if you have any comments or suggestions. It's good to talk ... even better to sing!

The Langport Leveller

The Langport Leveller

PO Box 93, Langport ,
A local newspaper with a difference. About local issues about national issues, we're not all cheese fairs and church fetes. This is a newspaper that reports on how life in our community is effected, whether that’s from Huish Episcopi Parish Council or Westminster. We print on high white paper with modern techniques so the ink stays on the paper not on your hands. We use font size 10 and above so you can read it without a magnifying glass. Oh yes and we write articles, not just sound bites in font 72 with big pictures. There is a perception in the trade that local papers should be simple and simplistic. We disagree. We do not agree that local=trivial We see no reason why a local paper should not tackle the same issues as a national broadsheet - just from a local perspective. We are the perfect vehoicle to advertise your business. The best value ad rates around and a newspaper that people actually read with circulation going up every month - what more could you ask!
