Alfold Garden Centre
Alfold Garden Centre lies on the A281, half way between Guildford and Horsham on the outskirts of Alfold. The entrance is just opposite the golf course.
The centre started life in the late 1960s as Medlands Nursery, owned by a Reverend Wight who reputedly bought it with money borrowed from J. Arthur Rank, owner of Pinewood Studios. His son ran the nursery, selling fruit and vegetables from a barrow by the side of the road; with the focus firmly on plants and horticulture, the centre has, over the years, developed into the popular and traditional garden centre of today. One member of staff, Malcolm, came to work at the centre for two years back in 1970.
We sell top quality growing stock, gardening products and garden furniture. We have a fabulous giftware department and at Christmas we put on a stunning display of decorations, lights and trees. Our staff are loyal, friendly and helpful horticultural experts who pride themselves on giving good practical advice to expert and amateur gardeners alike and look forward to welcoming you to the centre soon.
