The Red Lion is a traditional local pub with constantly changing real ales (we are in the Camra Good Beer Guide). We take pride in using local suppliers and fresh produce for our home cooked food. Situated in the picturesque village of Llangynidr, we invite all visitors to our welcoming pub and bed and breakfast. Everyone is welcome, including walkers, cyclists, children and dogs.

The hire base is between the award winning five locks at Llangynidr-well known for the ancient and picturesque bridge over the river Usk. Our unique location enables us to give the full driving and practical lock instruction which we consider important for safe navigation, lock assistance is also offered for less able customers. Both the width and length of our Narrowboats affords easy navigation on this smaller canal. Dogs are welcome, free of charge, at this family run business. The whole canal can be navigated in a week; however, we would recommend 10 or 11 days at an enjoyable pace.
