Loughborough Building Society

6 High Street, Loughborough ,
As a mutual business we are owned by our Members, no shareholders or dividends to pay, so we make every decision by putting our Members interest first. Read ‘our philosophy’; look at our financial performance and our community section to understand how strong the Society is and that we are engaged in our local communities across the East Midlands. The Society remains proud of its origins, starting in 1867 by local businessmen. Over 140 years the Society has changed a lot. However, generations of staff and managers have put Members and customers first which is why we are still here today. Putting members first One difference you will notice from larger financial service businesses is that we encourage Members feedback and we actively seek their views. Twice a year the Directors set up road show events (member forums) to hear at first hand from members and provide insight as to developments at the Society and in our key market places. This is in addition to the AGM which is a formal event where members meet the entire board and have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the Society’s business.
Loughborough Gap

Loughborough Gap

The Loughborough Gap is a short, disused section of the former Great Central Main Line in the northeastern corner of Loughborough, England, between the northern and southern sections of the present-day Great Central Railway. The formation originally consisted of an embankment and three bridges: two to span the Midland Main Line, and one a canal. Nearly all of this alignment was removed in the late 1960s under the Beeching Axe.
