Having worked in a family business (already established for 20 years) for 8 years after leaving school to then progress on to running my own business for 14 years dealing directly with large corporations such as Next Plc, Grattan Plc, Laura Ashley Plc and Tesco Plc I have been conditioned to a standard of expectation and trading that far exceeds that of an independant retailer. This in addition to extensive importing from various countries including Canada, China, Malaysia and India has given me an invaluable insight to what is expected from a supplier and a customer and puts me in the perfect position to fulfil any requirement at a professional level. In this day and age you do not last 14 years (or indeed 40 years as my father has - who taught me well) as a retailer unless you are sincere to both your customers and suppliers alike! St Peter's was built in 1911 and was once a hub of community activity. In recent years it was made ‘redundant’ as a parish church and lay unused for a number of years. As a result of a partnership project between Elim Church and Open Heaven Church money was raised and a massive refurbishment project was undertaken. The building now has a new glass fronted entrance, a fully operational commercial kitchen, a large auditorium and meeting rooms of different sizes. On top of two Sunday services – one at 10.30am and one at 2.30pm – other activities will initially include Messy Church once a month, the Cookery café for the elderly twice a week, a weekly creative movement class for pre-schoolers, a weekly parent and toddler group, marriage and parenting courses and community festivals.
