At Margate, we have an outstanding reputation as an extremely social and friendly club whilst also maintaining an exceptional standard of tennis. Margate currently has six all-weather hard courts, four with floodlights for all year round play and a separate junior mini-court with an excellent practice wall. Margate is very active in encouraging juniors of all levels to play, with various coaching schemes in place. We boast a wonderful setting, maintained to very high standards, with the most sheltered courts in East Kent. The recently refurbished club house has changing rooms equipped with hot and cold showers and toilets. A new kitchen was added last year and run by our social committee so that teas and refreshments are readily available. We also have a fully stocked licensed bar that players can retire to for a well earned drink, all at very reasonable prices !

Designed by Russell Diplock Associates and completed in 1964, Arlington Margate was completed in 1964. The development was typical of its time and comprised of an integrated scheme of car park, shopping centre and residential tower block. Far from typical or mediocre, its elegant design of the tower's elevations, whose wave form in some way reflects its seaside setting, and the skillfull treatment of the carpark decking and its supporting columns make Arlington Margate a particularly good example. Arlington Margate is currently under assessment by English Heritage for listing.
