Idle Frets
Paul Tunnicliffe is an Ormskirk - based singer, songwriter and musician with over 25 years experience performing and touring with bands and as a solo artist.
From an early age, Paul realised he had the ability to distinguish pitch and key, then relate this into a structure of chords, scales and melody relevant to the intended music piece to be performed and utilising good music literature as a point of reference. “The first guitar my parents bought me, was a black Encore Les Paul copy and at the timeâ€, says Paul. “I thought it was amazingâ€. He was 14 and from then on, consumed with enthusiasm and gut determination went on to teach himself guitar.
Paul, is currently studying - PREPARING to TEACH in the LIFELONG LEARNING SECTOR LEVEL 4/A level equivalent at West Lancashire College and has recently taken on a teaching vocation and offers either school or private home-based guitar/bass guitar tuition in the local area, as well as local schools, organisations and clubs.
Known now as lead singer, bassist & frontman for North West rock band The Late Poets, Paul's previous Liverpool 90`s band - Came Under Mayne and managed at the time by Bill Kenwright, recorded their first album at London's Redan Studios and toured the UK and Ireland, performing at high profile venues, such as The Manchester Palace Theatre,The Royal Court Liverpool and The Baggott Inn Ireland.

As a solo singer & acoustic guitarist, Paul has performed at pubs, private functions and music venues across the North West and supported Meols Cop Youth Centre in utilising their recording facility for young musicians.
Although his primary instruments are vocals and bass guitar/guitar, Paul also plays a little piano, he is constantly writing, recording and producing music.
Paul`s goals when teaching the bass guitar/guitar is to help and support students to turn their desires into reality and to provide a platform from which they can achieve great things. By doing this Paul will utilise a lot of his own personal time developing lessons, planning and creating new ways to further the progress of each individual student he teaches.
