Knights of Reigate

Knights of Reigate

8-10 Bell Street, Reigate ,
Knights of Reigate can trace its history back to 1883 when Mr Knight opened a drapery business in Bell Street, Reigate and we still trade from the same location today. Over the years the Store has expanded and developed and we currently trade from over 7,000 sq. ft. on two floors. The business continued to be owned by the Knight family until 2006, when Knights was acquired by Tudor Williams (Holdings) Ltd, another family owned business. It is now part of a larger retail group with sales in excess of £13m and employing over 200 staff. Knights was founded on the principles of wanting to bring a sense of Choice, Quality, Value, Fun and Something Different to the High Street. Over 125 years later we continue to provide "Something Different" in the High Street. Our buyers strive to source original and innovative products that have a sense of Fun, whilst maintaining our traditional criteria of Quality and Value. At the heart of our business is a need to be part of our local community, listening to what our customers want, and delivering against our customer's requirements. So over the coming months we will be inviting you, to a range of events, to take up some fantastic offers and most importantly to tell us what you do and do not like.

Reigate Grammar School DofE

Reigate Grammar School DofE

Reigate Grammar School, Reigate ,
DofE at Reigate Grammar School began in 1963, ten or so years after the Duke started the scheme. Aubrey Scrase set it up at Reigate Grammar and built the scheme with dedication over more than 20 years. He is now a legend in the history of the school. DofE at RGS started small. The first person to be awarded a Gold Award at RGS was Adrian Ballisat in 1968 (it took that long because you cannot go on a Gold Hike unless at least 3 other people come with you!). John O'Hara ran the scheme for another 20 years after Aubs "retired", circa 1987. RGS DofE has become one of the longest running, biggest and most successful DofE school units in the UK. In 2009 RGS became a DofE Operating Authority under the new leadership of Simon Collins. You may be interested to know that both Aubrey and John still come on some expeditions!
