Care and Cuddles Childminding Service
ABOUT ME
My name is Katie Judd and I am an experienced, professional registered Childminder, having completed the 'Introduction to Childminding Practice Course'.
I am registered to care for a maximum of six children under the age of 8 years. I can also offer out of school care for children age 3 - 12 and also overnight care for up to 12 years. I can drop off and pick up from local schools and pre-schools. (Please ask for more details). My service is open to all children and families and I may be able to care for children with additional needs. I am inspected regularly by CARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES INSPECTORATE WALES.
As a registered childminder I aim to provide a childminding service that allows children to learn and develop in a safe, secure, home-based environment. I have a child friendly, enclosed garden, with a grassed area as well as a patio where the children can play. The garden has toys and equipment such as water/sand pit, chalk, ride on toys, rockers and many more. The children will also be taken to the local park, playcentres, shops and library on a regular basis. Play will be at the centre of the child’s learning and development, and a wide range of activities and experiences appropriate to the age and stage of development will be offered. I offer numerous games and activities, for example v-tech educational toys, shape sorters, dolls/barbies/action men, train set, books and DVD's, lego, musical instruments, puzzles, jigsaws, games, cars and farm and zoo animals to name a few. I use the dining room table for activities such as baking, craft work, painting, colouring, play dough and use of the chalks and board. I encourage song time during the day. I include a “quiet time†in the day also which encourages rest and naps for those who need it. On offer for babies and younger children is a cot, travel cot, baby monitors, moses basket, bouncing chair, door bouncer, play ring, mats and gyms. All the babies and children have their own clean linen. I also have many baby toys and activity sets. My first language is English, although i do know basic Welsh and I encourage this in the daily routine.
I promote a non smoking environment. I strongly advise a pre-visit first to meet with myself and the other children in my care, so that the surroundings are familiar to the parent and child. This will help the child feel more settled and comfortable. It may be advisable for the child to stay for a short period at first.
