Ian Mearns is our MP for the constituency and he regularly holds surgeries including street stalls within the wards engaging members of the public on a vast range of subjects both locally and nationally. Our party is currently growing in membership due to the unpopular Con-Dem Government and their policies which are harming the people of Gateshead directly with issues like the appalling "Bedroom Tax" increased VAT as well as severe cuts to frontline services including starving local charities and organisations of funding. Library closures and the loss of public sector workers jobs. All of this has directly affected the people of Gateshead and as a Party we are all united with Ian Mearns MP as our spokesman to tackle these issues and force the Government to account. We are also looking to expand our current membership and recruit volunteers so if your interested in finding out more please contact the office on the number provided. We the Gateshead Labour Party stand to fight for the people of Gateshead to get the best for the Borough overall and stand up to the Government against their deplorable policies that are harming our constituency at every level. Ian holds regular surgeries both in the wards and at the office. If a surgery is to be held in a ward as a party we will send out a notification leaflet detailing time, date and location of the surgery were you can come and meet Ian, Councillors and volunteer party members.
