Anatomy course at Edinburgh drawing school
Our fantastic new guest tutor, Alberto Condotta, will take you step by step through the anatomy, structure and shapes within both the hands and the feet, in two 6-week Courses, which are ideal for beginners and the more experienced alike.
Alberto is originally from Italy, and he says: "I'm very passionate about teaching drawing and I had the privilege of studying anatomy for five years with Mauro Zocchetta, who currently teaches at Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. I'm grateful to him because I wouldn't be able to draw this way otherwise. I would be very happy to teach following his method at your institution!"
Part I will concentrate on the fabulous feet, and will be a 'step by step' (ah ha, couldn't resist!) guide, which will stand you (sorry!) in good stead for moving on to the more difficult-to-draw hands in Part II.
Part I - Feet
Commencing: Wednesday 15th May
Time: 2.00pm - 4.30pm
Venue: 25 Haddington Place
Duration: 6 weeks
Cost: £100
Foot Anatomy Course - Descriptor
The course is suitable for beginners as well as experts because every student will receive individual attention from the tutor. At the end of this course each student will be able to draw the foot from any point of view from memory.
But this course doesn’t exhaust itself with foot anatomy. By providing the basis of a method to read the inner architecture of the body, and to manipulate 3D structures - much like Auto-CAD software - this course challenges the drawing attitude of every student. This might be just the beginning!
Lesson 1: Course introduction and 2D overlook on foot proportions.
Lesson 2: How to set the foot framework in 3D.
Lesson 3: The foot bones and the ankle.
Lesson 4: Setting the foot and the ankle system in 3D.
Lesson 5: Building the foot and ankle system from the skeleton model and, vice versa, drawing the foot and ankle skeleton structure from photo references, part 1.
Lesson 6: Building the foot and ankle system from the skeleton model and, vice versa, drawing the foot and ankle skeleton structure from photo references, part 2.
Practice at home is encouraged and all the “homework†will be reviewed for each individual by the tutor at every lesson.
