MORE ABOUT YOUR RESIDENTS: MEL LOW D: At the age of 27 Mel-Low D is no stranger to music. She began toying with here dad's record collection from an early age and her childhood was full of music in and around the family home. At the age of 12 Mel had decided that she wanted to make music and she became a classically trained musician. She discovered dance music at an early age, and from the age of 12 she was going to raves. She would also listen to live DJ mixes on the radio she was a fan of many including Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Judge Jules, Grooverider, Paul Van dyk and Norman Cook. In 2002 when Mel was 17 she decided that she would go into the clubbing industry and follow her passion for music to become a DJ, Having many friends already in this field Mel tagged along to gigs and would often take over to gain experience. She loved the buzz and knew this is what she wanted to do. Mel has become a successful and well known DJ in her home City of Sheffield where she holds many residencies. She has also played for many club nights including Alter Ego, WFT, The Breakfast Club, RacKet, Good Vibes, Funked and Robofunk. Not only is Mel-Low D immensely talented as a DJ with incredible crowd reading, set building and track selection skills, she's also a very beautiful girl whose energy behind the decks is just a joy to witness. WORKSHY RENE: Workshy Rene currently works as Artist Manager for Obsession Records & Artist Management and took up DJing some 10 years ago after being inspired by the music scene. One track in particular that caught is attention was Moby's Go this was in 1991. He quickly got a taste for music and decided this is what he wanted to do with his life. He formed his own bands at high school and was a keen drummer. He then went on to do a music production course at college where he produced various tracks and won many competitions. Rene started his own promotion in London back in 2000 and his success has grown from there. He is now resident for various events around the UK. He has played for many club nights including Love Bug, RacKet, WTF, Dirty nights, Bitch, Glasshouse, Good Vibes, Wrong, filth and many more as well as holding residencies at Gatecrasher and Ministry of Sound & Hed Kandi in Egypt. Rene’s musical style has been described as 'two tablespoons of Electro, one tablespoon of Tech, a pinch of Prog and a Bucket load of Filth'. Look out for his future productions alongside girlfriend Mel low D they sure are ones to watch. L8N: L8N runs the monthly RevolutioN clubnight at the Corporation venue, a night that takes the very best from the hard electronic music genres and blends them all together, from industrial stompers to dirty electro grooves, floor shaking hardstyle and everything inbetween. He has been a resident at Corporation for the last 8 years, having held regular slots on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights over the years. L8N has also DJ'd at numerous clubnights and events across the UK, including Resistanz Festival (of which he is co-promoter), Infest, DV8, Tron, Nightmare, Wendyhouse and many more! Driven by a strong passion for music and always on the lookout for those all important killer tunes, his sets seamlessly blend together a varied mix of electronic styles and when it comes time to unleash the beats you better be ready to go hard or go home!
