Dunchurch community library

Dunchurch community library

The Green, Dunchurch, Rugby ,
In 2012 Warwickshire County Council decided to close Dunchurch Library as part of budget cuts. Dunchurch Parish Council held a number of public meetings where it was obvious that the community wanted to keep their library open. In April 2012 the Parish Council took over the library and became the controlling authority. The intention has always been to keep the library open, to encourage more people to use the service and improve the building to make it a community hub. The library is wholly operated by volunteers, so continually needs to recruit volunteers and to fund raise to meet some of the costs of the library. To raise funds for the library we hire out the building and hold various fund raising events throughout the year. The Dunchurch Library Supporters Trust has also opened a shop in the village and all proceeds go to the Library.
