1. OBJECTIVE
a) To run a series of 12 separate Grand Prix Knockout Singles events culminating in a money prize finals night
b) Points accrued during the Singles Knockout stages to count towards qualification for the Finals night
c) To give players the opportunity to play at least 2 x matches per week and up to 6 x matches per week depending on progress through the draw
2. SCHEDULE
a) K.O. Dates: Wednesday 23rd January 2013 to Wednesday 10th April 2013 [12 x nights]
b) Finals night: Wednesday 17th April 2013
3. WEEKLY FORMAT:
a) Based on a straight knockout draw. Any players not reaching the last 16 stage of a weekly event will be entered in the separate plate competition, also on the same night, and will also be a straight knockout
b) Main draw will be Best of 7 legs up to Quarter-Finals. Semi-Finals will be best of 9 legs, and the Final will be Best of 11 legs. Plate Competition will be 1 leg x 1001 throughout
c) The top 8 Players in the Grand Prix table will be seeded on finals night, with players 9-16 in the table also qualifying
A. ELIGIBILITY FOR FINALS
1) Players must participate in a minimum of 6 x weekly IKO’s for points to count towards Finals night invitation
B. ORDER OF THROW
1) Bull up rule to apply to all matches first and deciding legs
2) At the start of the match the player named first will throw first for bull.
3) Winner of the bull to go first in the ‘odd numbered’ ensuing legs
E. FEES
1) £5.00 entry fee per player per participating fixture
F. PRIZE STRUCTURES
1) Weekly Event Winner - £50, Runner-up - £25, Semi Finalists - £10. Plate Winner - £20, Plate Runner-up - £10
2) Weekly fund raising and sponsorships, donations etc will go towards the finals prize fund
G. WEEKLY POINTS ALLOCATION
1) Winner - 9 points
2) Runner-up - 7 points
3) Losing Semi-Finalists - 5 points
4) Losing Quarter-Finalists - 4 points
5) Last 16 Losers - 3 points
6) First round losers who then subsequently win their 1st Plate game - 1 point
7) First round losers who then subsequently lose their 1st Plate game - 0 points
8) Plate Winner - 3 Points
9) Plate Runner-up & Semi-Finalists - 2 points
9) All players losing their first matches will be put into the losers draw
H. PLAYING SCHEDULE
1) Register: 7.45pm
2) Draw: 8.00pm
3) Toe-the-Oche: 8.15pm
I. MARKING
1) First rounds – markers will be nominated
2) Other rounds - losers to mark as instructed
3) It is the losing players responsibility to ensure the next game on that board is chalked, by either themselves or by an appointed person. IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EVENT CO-ORDINATORS
3) Any player failing to mark when requested will forfeit any points accrued to date
4. FINALS NIGHT
A. QUALIFYING FINALISTS
1) After all 12 IKO events have been completed the Top 16 players in the Points Table will be invited to contest the finals
2) In the event of any player knowing of their unavailability in advance then the next-in-line players will be used until all 16 x places are filled
3) In the event of more than 16 players qualifying there will be a count back on positions attained during the Grand Prix
4) If there is still a tie then there will be a play off on Finals night to determine the last 16
5) The top 8 players in the Grand Prix table will be seeded.
6) Any players who have not qualified in the last 16, but have played at least 1 weekly event will be eligible for the Finals Night Plate Competition, which will have a £3 entry fee
B. FINALS FORMAT
Tie Play Offs Best of 5 x 501 – first to win 3 legs
Last 16 - Best of 9 x 501 – first to win 5 legs
Last 8 - Best of 11 x 501 – first to win 6 legs
Semi-Finals - Best of 13 x 501 – first to win 7 legs
Final - Best of 15 x 501 – first to win 8 legs
C. ELIGIBILITY
1) Only players that have participated in at least 6 of the 12 qualifying nights will be eligible for inclusion in the Finals regardless of how many points accumulated
2) Only players that have participated in at least 6 of the 12 qualifying nights will be eligible for any prize monies regardless of how many points accumulated
D. FINALS PRIZES
Overall Points Table winner - The Overall winner of the points table will receive the monies as set aside weekly for this purpose. 1st - £80, 2nd - £40, 3rd - £20
In the event of a tie for the top 3 places in the table then 3 levels of countback will be applied to determine positions. If there is still a tie, then prize money will be shared
All players qualifying for the last 16 will receive Prize monies estimated as follows:
Winner - £320
Runner Up - £160
Joint 3rd - £ 80 [x2]
Joint 5th - £ 40 [x4]
Joint 9th - £ 20 [x8]
Table winners - 1st - £80, 2nd - £40, 3rd - £20
Finals Night Plate Winner - £50
Finals Night Plate Runner-up - £25
Ladies Playoff Winner (Subject to 2 ladies each playing at least 6 events) - £40
Ladies Playoff Runner-Up (Subject to as above) - £20
Series Highest Checkout - £10
Series Most 180's - £10
Series Quickest Leg - £10
Total Finals Night Prize Money - £1265
Total Series Prize Money = (12 x £125) - £1500
GRAND TOTAL - £2765
