Running every Friday morning (apart from some holidays, check our timeline for more info) from a wonderful playgroup based in New Southgate/Arnos Grove. Located in a church hall there is plenty of room to try on wraps and carriers and is secure for your little person to burn off some energy playing with the many toys on offer. There are also hot drinks and biscuits! On hand every week are two experienced babywearers, Toddy (mum of 3 and who runs the playgroup), Kate (mum of twins) and occasionally Becky (trained babywearing consultant) to offer advice on the hows, whys and wheres of babywearing. Rentals start from £5 for 2 weeks hire. Deposits are required to hire one of our carriers, this can be paid in the form of cash or cheque and will be returned to you upon receipt of the carrier in an acceptable condition. Żywiec (originally known as Millennium Polish Dance Group) was founded in 1965 by Kś Kazio Grzymała and Pani Irena Różycka as choreographer as a sub-section of the Polish Millennium Youth Club in Ealing. In 1976 Andrzej Sagajllo took over as choreographer and led the group for over 30 years until he handed over the creative direction to his daughter Klara Sagajllo in 2006. From 2008 the group has been under direction of Dara Stringham and Iwona Ogórek. Regular Events Concerts include the Festival of Polish Folklore held across different cities throughout the UK every 3 years, the local Ealing and Hanwell Carnival and our parish harvest festival (Dożynki). We also frequently perform at wedding receptions and corporate events. Rehearsals Our weekly rehearsals are lively and fun. We start with a 15min warm-up followed by an hour-and-a-half of choreography work under the skilful eye of our Artistic Director, Dara Stringham. To finish, we spend about 30min improving our singing and learning new songs led by Iwona Ogórek.

The Bank of Ideas came into being when the UBS headquarters building on Sun Street was taken over and opened as a political occupation. During its 4 month occupation the Bank of Ideas hosted over 400 events ranging from political debate, comedy nights to direct action planning and preparation. The Bank of Ideas now exists as an online community supporting alternative spaces that strengthen radical social movements in London.

Greater Sylhet Development and Welfare Council (GSC) in UK is a voluntary organisation established in 1993. It is a nationwide charity organisation working for the welfare of Sylheti Bangladeshi People living in the UK. The organisation is run by an elected National Executive Committee and is governed by a constitution. GSC has 13 regional committee’s to work with same charter of welfare for the Bangladeshi community living in various regions throughout the UK. GSC shall remain as a politically non-partisan voluntary organisation to assist the Bangladeshi community in the UK through the provision of advice, information, counselling, support, interpretation, translation and other services.
