We are a team of police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) working within your community to make it a better and safer place to live. We hold monthly public meetings (PACT) where our policing priorities for the following month are set. Our priorities are determined by you, the public. Examples might include concerns about youths hanging round in an area, drug dealing at a locality, or speeding vehicles near a school. The council also attend these meetings. The police officers on the team investigate crime, patrol the streets and conduct enquiries into other matters, for example collating intelligence received from the public. The PCSOs primary role is to patrol. They are also regularly in the local schools engaging with school children and delivering messages on safety etc. They also gather lots of intelligence. We are part of a multi-agency approach, involving the council, social services, fire service etc, we all work together to try to keep you safe.
