We have eight spacious bedrooms, all with lovely views. Breakfasts are hearty, wholesome and cooked to order using local produce wherever possible. We have a large sitting room with a sunny west-facing balcony, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine or local beer after a day of walking, cycling or exploring the beautiful scenery.

We are a small friendly Coffee Shop on the shores of Lake Windermere at Ambleside managed by Jane Simmonds and Richard Greaves. Concentrating on homemade scones,cakes and fruit pies and lots more.... Fabulous Coffee and of course our Famous Hot Choc Dip Ice Creams... We are also famous for our homemade Blueberry Scones which we serve with gorgeous blueberry Jam and fresh cream.....

Overlooking Ambleside and the Lake District fells, Barngates Brewery benefits immensely from using its own water supply in the brewing process. This unique natural resource is gathered from these same fells and is free of additives with its light peaty colour (reminiscent of a malt whiskey) it is the distinctive foundation of each beer.
