We are a fellowship of Christians who believe we are called by God the Father, saved by God the Son and empowered by God the Holy Spirit to serve Him within Barnstaple, in North Devon and to the ends of the earth. There has been a Baptist church building in Boutport Street since 1833, but, while the exterior has remained relatively unchanged over the intervening 179 years, the sanctuary is modern and very appropriate for a lively, worshipping community. Our Sunday worship is contemporary, whilst remaining true to age-old Christian tradition. We sing new Christian songs, together with the great hymns of faith - the words being displayed on the screen at the front. Song books are available for those who might need them. Our services are at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday and every third Sunday at 6.30 p.m.

Barnstaple Town Vets have been going for 15 years! We entered the National Umbro Trophy in 1999 and played every season until 2010 when we joined the newly formed Devon County Veterans League. This season, we rejoined the Umbro competition in the over 50's section. After a few semi-finals appearances, we eventually reached the final of the Umbro competition in 2006 and again in 2008. In fact, we fied in being "underage" so the team was stripped of the cup. We then played a second final against the other losing semi finalists, Harogate at Port Vale F. C. but unfortunately we lost again! Despite losing all three matches, they were great experiences for us aging players.

Barnstaple History Group meet every two months at St Anne's Arts & Community Centre, and twice a year at Barnstaple Guildhall. Meetings take place on a Saturday at 2.30pm. (for dates please see 'Events' section)

Barnstaple Youth Council aims to be the voice of young people, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BE HEARD! This is an exciting opportunity for you to VOICE YOUR OPINIONS and be involved with PROJECTS THAT MATTER TO YOU, to help CHANGE and SHAPE the town of BARNSTAPLE. The Youth Council was re-launched in June 2007. Since then it has held an “Ideas Into Action Day”, a “Quiz and Karaoke Night” and a “Music Festival”. The Youth Council has created and taken part in many projects including an “Intergenerational Spray Art Project”, a “Mural Project” as part of the Restoration of the Albert Clock Project and has recently produced a “Drugs Awareness DVD”. The Youth Council is building strong links with organisations within the town and throughout Devon these organisations include: Barnstaple Town Council Barnstaple Town Centre Management Devon and Cornwall Police LINk Devon UK Youth Parliament Devon Senior Council LOGO The Youth Council is also consulted on a wide range of issues. Youth Councillors will be expected to: - Attend regular meetings Take part in Civic Events such as the Barnstaple Fair Organise and take part in projects and events This is YOUR Youth Council, you DECIDE how you would like it to run, the projects and events you undertake, and how to spend your budget.
