Amanda has been a consultant for eighteen years and has the experience, training and skills to help everyone that joins to make the most of Food Optimising. The group has a wealth of experience, attending on a weekly basis and are willing to share their experiences of how to fit weight loss into everyones daily life. Food is always the main topic of conversation with members sharing recipes and experiences to help one another stay motivated and they are always ready to cheer as their friends reach their weight loss targets. Slimming World offers a no hunger, no boredom way to lose weight effectively. The choice and group support helps all members fit their weight loss into their lives effortlessly.

Welcome to Buxton Taekwon-Do School. We welcome all new members from beginners to veterans alike. Our training generally includes a system of blocks, kicks, punches, open handed strikes and various take-downs or sweeps. We also include throws, joint locks as well as grabbing self defence techniques borrowed from Hapkido (another Korean martial art). The classes are taught by Master John R Gabbard 7th Dan Taekwon-Do, 2nd Dan Hapkido and we train at Buxton Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre on St John's Rd on Tuesdays 8-9.30pm. Juniors (14 & under) £4.00 8-9pm, Seniors (over 14 years old) £5.00 8-9.30pm.

Samaritans provides completely confidential emotional support 24 hours a day by telephone, personal visit, email, and letter, through its branch network – support that includes outreach activity at festivals and outside our centres in prisons, hospitals, schools, the workplace and with homeless people. Our purpose is to: Enable persons who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who may be at risk of suicide, to receive confidential emotional support at any time of the day or night from appropriately trained Samaritans in order to improve their emotional health and to reduce the incidence of suicide. Promote a better understanding in society of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings which may otherwise lead to suicide or impaired emotional health.
