The Buxton Puppet Festival was started by the British Puppet & Model Theatre Guild in 2003. In 2006, the Buxton Opera House took over from the Guild and now present this annual festival with local puppetry organisation Funny Wonders. It takes place over the last full week of July right in the middle of Buxton's summer festivals.
