The football club has origins dating back to 1933 but since it was reformed in 1955 the history of the club shows that it hs had continual success in the local football leagues, none more so than in the seasons since the start of this new century. The club, which makes no payment to players, competes in the Premier Division of the West Lancashire League which features clubs all the way from Barrow-in-Furness down into Greater Manchester. The Club are the current West Lanashire League Premier Division title holders having previously collected the honour in the 1997/8, 2002/3 and 2008/9 seasons. In most of the recent seasons, the club has finished in the top four positions in the league. The club are also the current holders of the coveted Lancashire Amatuer Shield having previously won the competition in the 2001/2, 2006/7, 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. With a strong band of loyal supporters the club consistently draws home crowds of around 100 and often over 150 spectators watch the club's home games. The success that the club have experienced in recent seasons supports the club's claim to be one of the top amatuer clubs in the North West.
