Elaine Mariani Equine Sports Massage Therapist
I am an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, ESMA registered and fully insured.
I use a variety of bodywork techniques based on an assessment of the horse I am working with. As well as traditional massage techniques I also use myofascial release which is a gentle, non-invasive, effective method of working on the connective tissue which permeates the body, affecting all areas of the horse.
About me:
I trained in human holistic massage and gained the I.T.E.C. Dip. Holistic Massage qualification. I was then accepted on an equine sports massage course with Mary Bromiley MBE which culminated in the award of the I.T.E.C. Dip. Equine Sports Massage Therapy certificate.
I have a passion for horses and all things connected to their care and physical/mental wellbeing. I endeavor to constantly increase my knowledge base and with this in mind attend many relevant courses, and read every publication I can find on the subject with a view to increasing my skills and understanding of physical therapy, equine biomechanics, maintaining the healthy horse and returning him or her to best form and function.
It is a never-ending journey but then that’s no surprise since every thing equine is. They can not fail to change our lives once we allow them in.
What a privilege it is to work with these amazing creatures. They have given my life so much meaning and I love being able to give something back.
I also hold the BHS PTT certificate.
I am currently enrolled as a spectator on the three year instructor training programme with M. Philippe Karl - a real privilege!
I share my life with my very understanding husband, my horses Harry - a Hanoverian x TB, Liebi – a Dutch Warmblood, 2 Shetland ponies - Hector and Muffin, and 2 dogs, Dusty and Busby.
