Knowsley Foodbank

Knowsley Foodbank

PO BOX 135, Liverpool ,
How a foodbank works: Food is donated Schools, churches, businesses and individuals donate non-perishable, in-date food to a foodbank. Large collections often take place as part of Harvest Festival celebrations. Food is also collected at ‘Supermarket Collections’: These are events held at supermarkets where volunteers give shoppers a ‘foodbank shopping list’ and ask them to buy an extra item or two for local people in crisis. Food is sorted and stored Volunteers sort food to check that it’s in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need. Frontline care professionals identify people in need Care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers, CAB and police identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher. Clients receive food Foodbank clients bring their voucher to a foodbank centre where it can be redeemed for three days emergency food. Volunteers meet clients over a cup of tea or free hot meal and are able to signpost people to agencies able to solve the longer-term problem. Some foodbanks also run a rural delivery service, which takes emergency foodboxes to clients living in rural areas who cannot afford to get to a foodbank. Knowsley Lift Services

Knowsley Lift Services

1st Floor Fairfield House Binns Road , Liverpool ,
Established in 1997, Knowsley Lift Services Ltd specialised in the installation of new lifts and the refurbishment of existing lift installations. A partnership was formed with the intention to expand to the public sector and create a company that employed and trained local people into the lift industry. In 2000, Joe Fitzgerald joined the company, which then became Limited, with each Director having an equal share in the company. All Directors are fully qualified lift engineers, and worked for The Express Lift Company Ltd, prior to the Otis take-over. Three of the directors reached the level of regional technicians, and one became Liverpool Branch Manager, moving to Senior Regional Sales Manager prior to Knowsley Lifts Ltd. With the need for qualified men now essential due to legislation, Knowsley Lifts Services Ltd, embarked on an extensive training programme for all its employees as they were recruited into the company. This ensured all our employees were able not only to maintain and service lifts, but were able to install new lifts, refurbish existing lifts and fault find to a high level of competence. Due to the strict European Standards governing the lift industry it was also important to gain the proper accreditation for our industry which we successfully completed in 2003. This is a UKAS accreditation and is fully recognised within the industry, we also achieved Schedule 12 accreditation in construction and design. Knowsley Lift Services Ltd is also a full member of The Lift & Escalator Association. Knowsley Lift Services has developed a policy of expansion within the North West area, with its operational base in Liverpool. We have secured many contracts with local authorities and organisations, creating partnering agreements with them to provide ‘best value’ with an open book policy on parts, labour and documentation. We are constantly scrutinising our supply chains in order to provide the best quality equipment for our customers, which is always open protocol and therefore does not require any specialist manufacturer’s diagnostic test tool equipment or secured password systems which leave the end user/ customer tied in with the installing company for future service works. We provide a full internet based customer portal system, where our clients can access and view all their sites, assets, documentation, Health and Safety, invoicing and scheduling. All our engineers are trained to the highest standard and have all gained industry recognised qualifications within The Lift Industry Training Scheme (LITS). We have an active apprenticeship policy, with the aim of minimum HNC level achievement, part of their training program. Our service engineers have access to Health and Safety Policy Statements via their hand-held personal PDA systems. They also have access to the Extranet for on site risk assessment analysis. They have been provided with training for risk assessment and method statement compilation. Our engineers are provided with annual tool box talk sessions and are part of the Fusion 21 framework agreement for ongoing training in reference to all Health and Safety and Vocational Training. We employ Peninsula Business Services to advise with Health and Safety and Employment Law. We also work alongside The Federation of Small Business for legal and contractual matters. We are full members of The Lift and Escalator Industry Association and we refer to them for regular lift regulation updates. We are also full members of CHAS, Constructionline and Safecontractor. Our Quality Management is of the highest standard, and we take great pride in the relationships we have with our clients and customers. TENANTS Whether you are a professional, student or local housing allowance (LHA) tenant we have a wide selection of properties available. All our properties are good quality rented accommodation the majority of which are accredited by Liverpool City Council, Wirral Borough Council, Knowsley Council and St. Helens Council and all our student properties are accredited with Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) and the Universities. We meet a set of service standards and follow a strict code of conduct in the rental market. We are members of The Property Ombudsman Scheme for Residential Lettings which sets out the framework within which we must operate and the standards of service we must provide for both landlords and tenants. LANDLORDS We offer a comprehensive range of services to landlords to suit each individual’s requirements from ‘let only’ and ‘vacant property management’ through to ‘full management’. We specialise in portfolio management, the management of Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and Local Housing Allowance (LHA) tenanted units where landlords can maximise returns. In addition we offer a Project Management Service for landlords wishing to renovate or refurbish properties. INVESTORS Our buy-to-let advisory and acquisition service can assist you with the development of your portfolio and establish a strategy for growth for any aspect of the residential property market such as HMO or LHA housing. Our service to investors is designed to provide a one-stop shop with a difference – namely that we act for YOU in sourcing and acquiring the right property in the right location, at the keenest-possible price, and with its long-term viability in mind – both in terms of capital growth and lettings potential. We specialise in the sourcing, acquisition and management of HMOs (House of Multiple Occupation) and LHA (Local Housing Allowance) tenanted properties which can provide investors with substantial net cash flows. Such properties are feared of by investors as they can be a minefield in terms of legislation and regulation however if such properties are set up and managed correctly these properties can offer considerable returns. Many of our current Landlords are also registered with us as investors, and they are actively looking to add to their portfolios. If you have an investment property to sell we may be able to find a buyer for you without the need for you to pay any costly estate agents fees.
