Lewes Taxis are based in Lewes, the historic county town of East Sussex. Established 1st January 1991, now in our twenty third year, and still offering a 'Prompt & Helpful' service.

Lewes Wing Chun is part of Wing Chun-UK. We teach Wing Chun, the southern Chinese self-defence martial art, based on adaptability, speed and directness. The system is specifically designed for modern-day self-defence and we teach using both traditional and contemporary training methods. Although very sophisticated, the system is taught in a structured and logical way, allowing students to adapt gradually to the new ideas. The clear syllabus will help you track your progress and understand the logic of Wing Chun from day one. As training goes on, you will become stronger and faster, improve your coordination and body awareness, and feel more confident and better able to defend yourself. Wing Chun is also mentally stimulating and is a great way to change your focus after a stressful day. Men and women of all ages and fitness levels can enjoy (and benefit from) learning Wing Chun together. A key feature is adaptability of the techniques to the capabilities of the user, and to the movements and physical size/strength of an attacker. Correctly applied, Wing Chun does not depend upon brute force or high levels of physical fitness or flexibility. Adult classes (ages 16 up) are held on Sunday mornings in the Function Room Southdown Sports Club on Cockshut Road. We do not presently hold Children’s classes but please enquire if interested. Private tuition for individuals and small groups is also available. We aim to make classes friendly and inclusive, with plenty of interaction between students of all levels, ages and sizes. Lessons are structured to reflect the students’ different capabilities, levels and learning styles as much as possible, so as to help each student find their own best path. Making is where it's at and Made in Lewes want to give you every opportunity to start something new for 2012. With plenty of courses ranging from Basic Sewing Skills and Beginners Patchwork, to Dress Making, Rug Making and Felting, we hope to have something for everyone. my rates are as follows , brake service, including cable and leaver check, clean lubricate, check blocks/pads re- set advise £15, gear service, including visual cable check, clean lubricate, cog/ cassette check visual Derailleur checks clean re-set and "fine tune" selectors advise £15 stop go service including both of the above for a discounted £25 6 month service, including stop go service, wheels trued, cones checked and lubricated, tyre pressure check and inflated, crank checked and lubricated, peddle arms checked and tested for fractures, peddles checked, headset checked and lubricated, forks checked for fractures and integrity, paint work inspected for deep (to the metal) chips or scratches. a report will be given with any advice given £60 12 month service as above but with a total strip to component parts, All parts will be checked, cleaned, and lubricated and re-assembled to specific manufactures torque settings £90 i will also undertake all repairs at an hourly rate of £20 All lubrication is included in the service price but if your bike requires parts these will be charged at the source rate (i will supply you with a parts receipt) i will set my minimum rate at £10 for the first half hour( so a puncture will cost £10)
