Moretonhampstead is THE place to be on Carnival Day - Come and see what is probably the best town carnival in Devon and most certainly the largest of it's kind on Dartmoor Activities start on Carnival Day at around 10am with fun for the children in The Square where you will find Face Painters, Bouncy Castles, Games, Street Entertainers, Music and Charity Stalls In addition, during the afternoon we have a varied market selling local produce, crafts and gifts from around the local area, our regular Funlands Fun Fair, the Traditional Furry Dance, the crowning of the Carnival Royalty and the judging of the Carnival Entries all taking place and all leading up to the main event - The Grand Carnival Procession! The week running up to the Moretonhampstead Carnival Day is packed with events for all the family with live music, tea dances, fun fair, fetes, fun runs and so much more! We are open Monday - Saturday from Noon until Midnight and Sundays Noon until 10.30pm. Food is available on Monday - Saturday from 12.30pm untill 2.30pm from 2.30pm - 6pm there is a snack menu, and from 6pm - 9pm full menu. Sundays full menu from 12.30pm - 5pm. If you wish to eat after these times we offer a range of snack boxes to eat in or take away. The Bell Inn has a pool table, two dart boards and a juke box with a broad selection of music for all tastes. The “Painted Room” is used for concerts, live music and discos. We hold regular Food “Theme” Nights in there. It is also available for functions, meetings etc. The Bell regularly offers live music in the main bar, with occasional Quiz and Karaoke nights.

Beautiful, two-bedroomed holiday cottage in the 13th century village of North Bovey in Dartmoor National Park. Built for lovebirds, the cottage has oak-beamed walls, log fires and sheepskin rugs, shimmering wallpapers, ornate mirrors and a huge copper bath for two. An ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area of Devon, the White Hart has 20 well-appointed bedrooms in the main hotel and a further eight in a separate mews building. Our restaurant features the freshest local, seasonal produce cooked in a style that lets the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. A free house, we stock a range of local real ales and have a hand-picked wine list. Dartmoor is great walking country and dogs are welcome everywhere in the hotel, except in the dining room.
