Sussex Prints
About Henry Miller:
Henry Miller was born in London in 1921, where he trained at St. Martins School of Art & Design and Bolt School of Lithography in Fleet Street.
After serving in the RAF, he continued his career in commercial art, where he started his own studio which he ran successfully for 35 years until his retirement.
Working in oils and watercolour, he has many paintings in private collections across the world. Over the years he has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Institute of Painters and in Water Colour at the Mall Galleries in London.
In 1986 Henry moved with his family to Sussex. The landscape and the many villages and landmarks that he visited over the years were the inspiration for his paintings. Henry continued to paint throughout his retirement and became a well known local Sussex artist.
In 1990 he was commissioned by Adur Council to paint a commemorative painting of the Old Shoreham Power Station prior to its demolition. The original was auctioned for charity.
Sadly, Henry Miller passed away in the latter part of 2011. His daughter, Henrietta, has set up Sussex Prints in memory of Henry so that his limited editions that show his love of Sussex will continue to delight.
