The Scottish Fisheries Museum, in Anstruther, has something new for every visitor to discover - bringing the story of the Scottish fishing industry to life, for young and old alike. Within our impressive complex of historic buildings, you can learn about the earliest beginnings of fishing; come face to face with the hard-working "Herring Lasses"; experience what life on board (and at home) would have been like for fishermen and explore real fishing boats in our boatyard. Our recognised collection of national significance also includes an impressive range of art and artefacts. Of course, no day out at the Scottish Fisheries Museum would be complete without a visit to our cosy tearoom, which has a great range of homebaking (ever popular with visitors and locals alike!), and our well stocked gift shop.

We are a couple of retrophiles who just enjoy collecting mostly mid-century stuff but also enjoy creating pieces of pop/folk art and upcycling things we find lying around. We are both also involved in the 'Free Art Friday' movement in our local area and actively drop peces for members of the general public to pick up and enjoy for FREE every Friday!! One of my great passions is painting, since starting Lady Day Art I have sold hundreds of commissioned paintings as well as prints and other originals. I first picked up a paint brush 2 years ago when studying A-Level at Aylesford School. I have spent the last year doing an art foundation course at Warwickshire College which is leading on to me going to Birmingham City University school of art later this year where I will be completing a 3 year course on fine art.
