Designed by Swansea architect, Jernigan, it was built in 1797 for the storage of whale oil awaiting transhipment for sale in London. Milford Haven has been connected with a number of industries - fishing, Quaker whaling from 1790s, which led to the whale oil industry and more recently the modern oil industry. Treasurer's House, York

Treasurer's House, York

Treasurer's House, Minster Yard, York ,
The Treasurer's House in York was acquired by the National Trust in 1930. Given to us by Frank Green, a wealthy Edwardian industrialist and avid collector, it was the first house to ever be given to the National Trust complete with a collection. The Treasurer's House you see today is the work and commitment of Frank Green, who owned the house between 1897 and 1930. During this time, he redesigned the thirteen rooms in the style of different historic periods to house his ever-growing collection of antiques. A wealth of characters have lived and experienced the Treasurer's House, from Roman soldiers, medieval clergymen, a deaf astronomer, an 18th century female writer, and even royalty.
Gower Art

Gower Art

53 Hopton Lane, Mirfield ,
Richard Gower studied at Batley Art College in the 1980s, where he specialised in fine art and sculpture. Over the last three years he has been developing a unique style with his 'Reflections' series and within a relatively short time his paintings have attracted a number of high profile purchasers and demand continues to grow. Throughout his career Richard has painted in a variety of styles and will continue to do so. "My painting has evolved into 'Reflections', but if you're a musician why play just rock or jazz?" This approach gives you the choice. As a collector, you do not necessarily go for one particular style, medium or era, but use your taste and judgement to achieve a mélange which reflects your lifestyle and environment. In putting together this website, we try to offer an insight into Richard's eclectic mix, from wonderful examples of earlier paintings, through specially commissioned pieces, to the popular 'Reflections' collection. In this way we hope to inspire and instruct, tease and tempt. Enjoy!
