The attractive Victorian schoolhouse now incorporates a contemporary art gallery also selling arts and crafts in the foyer, heritage displays and archive, a number of purpose-built artist’s studios, a large dedicated youth centre and offices. Green Hill attracts a diverse audience to enjoy a programme that nourishes the arts and crafts community of Dartmoor and encourages visitors from far and wide to engage in contemporary visual art.

Discover a very special treasure when you are in Morpeth. Housed in the delightful medieval Chantry buildings next to the River Wansbeck is Morpeth Chantry Bagpipe Museum. The pipes collection belongs to the Society of Antiquaries of Newcastle upon Tyne. The Chantry building itself was founded for a priest to say Mass, pray for Christian souls, and keep a grammar school. He also collected bridge tolls. The school was granted a charter by Edward VI in 1552 and operated until 1846. Since then it has been used for a wide variety of purposes from a cholera hospital to a mineral water factory. Today the building is also home to the Northumbrian Craft Centre. Part of Woodhorn Charitable Trust alongside Berwick Museum and Art Gallery, Hexham Old Gaol and Woodhorn.

Nairn Museum offers visitors and locals alike a fascinating insight into the life and times of the town and surrounding area. Permanent displays illustrate various aspects of Nairn's history, while each year there is also a programme of changing exhibitions. The Museum particularly welcomes children, providing a range of hands-on exhibits and a safe play area. Facilities for the disabled include a wheelchair and stair lift. A broad range of archive material is available to help those with local and family history enquiries, along with access to over 5000 digitised photographs covering all aspects of life in Nairnshire. Nairn Museum is an independent museum and registered charity (SC 019425). We are indebted to The Highland Council for an annual grant towards running costs but we do have to make a small admission charge.

The fascinating history of one of Cheshire's most attractive and historic towns is brought to life by The Nantwich Museum. Located in Pillory Street, at the heart of the town, the museum has main galleries telling the story of Nantwich through the ages - Roman salt making Tudor Nantwich's Great Fire he Civil War Battle of Nantwich (1644) and the more recent shoe and clothing industries. Beyond the galleries lie extensions. The first contains the cheese-making exhibition, dedicated to demonstrating how the county's famous cheese has traditionally been made and sold around the floral market town of Nantwich. Above it is the Joseph Heler meeting room, which also houses our collection of maps. Next to these is the Community Gallery, where small exhibitions are staged, followed by the magnificent, prize-winning, Millennium Gallery, which provides the perfect home for a diverse programme of temporary exhibitions. With facilities available to local community groups, Nantwich Museum is a vibrant hub of local interest. Enter through the door of Nantwich's former Victorian Jubilee library and discover our exciting museum for yourself. The museum is financially supported by : Cheshire East Council Nantwich Town Council The museum does not make a charge for admission, although donations are always welcome.
