E.U.S.C. Proudly Sponsored by Sperry Topsider - It's a Shoe! Probably The Best Sailing Club In The World 'If you don't like getting wet, don't come!' Welcome to the University of Exeter Sailing Club. This year is a very exciting year with lots of opportunities for everybody. These are the different sections of our club: Team Racing- At Exeter we have 3 mixed teams and 1 ladies teams giving you the chance to sail as part of one of the most successful university sailing clubs in England. We train every Wednesday afternoon at the Roadford Resivoir and are away competing at events most weekends throughout the season. In early March we host our own team racing event, the Exeter Excalibur. Anyone with any sailing experience is welcome to attend trials. Fleet Racing- At the beginning of November we send a team to the BUSA fleet racing championships. For the last two years Exeter have been BUSA Team Champions and have also had individual gold medals in various fleets. Match Racing- We send 2 teams to the BUSA Match Racing Qualifiers in February and the BUSA Match Racing Finals are held the the Queen Mary Resivoir in London during Easter break. Last year both teams were successful at qualifying and we were the only university with two teams in the finals, however due to light winds the regatta was not completed. Yachting- We send a team to the BUSA Yacht Racing Championships sailed in brand new Beneteau First 40's. Usually we train a few weekends before the regatta. Casual Sailing- This section of the club allows you to get out on the water and take a relaxed approach to club racing or general sailing allowing you to improve your sailing skills at the same time. We sail the fireflies based at the Roadford, ensuring calmer waters for learning. In addition we host RYA courses during term time and of course EUSC's socials are great!, so no matter what your level of experience we have something for you. Membership: Membership costs £75. More information to come! Be sure to check us out at Fresher's Activities Fair! For more information feel free to contact anyone from the 2011/12 EUSC Committee.
